Jerrie Turkatte-Tisserant, died sometime shortly before Valentine’s day 2021 alone in her apartment in or around Paris apparently of a heart attack and reportedly also Covid.
Jerrie would visit congregants from her church to participate in Zoom events, unmasked next to the other congregants. I feel for Jerrie and understand her needing community as Jerrie would travel around visiting other congregants. It is natural to let one’s guard down, and take off one’s mask, with others. It is natural to visit others. Jerrie was 79 years old.
I knew Jerrie principally from volunteering on the cooking staff for church events. Jerrie was the resident dish washer, always happily complaining with a smile. I do hope we dedicate the kitchen sinks to Jerrie’s memory.
Here is her memorial service from March 21, 2021.
